I used my Kodak camera to take pictures for my preliminary task and my main task. The camera is 10 mega pixels so the pictures were taken at a good quality; this made my pictures clearer for the front cover, double page spread and contents page.
I used my HP G62 laptop to do a majority of my work, using a laptop allowed me to continue my work while in different locations such as at college, home or around a friends.This provided me convenient access to my work. I also used the computers provided at college in the library and student learning centre.
This is my mobile phone. I used my mobile to contract friends and models for meeting times such as the photo shoot and recordings for my blog project. This provided me continual access to the people involved in my project.
My Kodak printer aloud me to print off my final front cover, double page spread and contents page. The Kodak high quality printer made the pictures come out in good quality to be placed in folder with the rest of my project.
My Memory stick was one of the most important devices in my coursework. My memory stick aloud me to take and travel folders and information between college, home and other locations. I also used my memory stick as a back up process to keep out of risk of losing any of my work.
I used Hotmail and Office Outlook as other ways to contact people involved in my coursework. The e-mail system aloud me to contact and confirm appointments with the people involved. I also used the e-mail as a way to receive audience feed back for my final front cover, double page spread and contents page.
I also used Facebook as another source of contact. By creating statuses regarding open positions for models and audience research for my target audience gave me access to a variety of young adults and teens.
I used Adobe Photo Shop and Adobe In Design C5, to edit my images for my front cover, contents page and double page spread. By using both these applications i added different effects to my images. I did find both applications difficult at first but through testing different methods it became a very useful app.
I used paint quite a lot over the course of this portfolio. I mainly used it as device to copy and paste my print screens to demonstrate my manipulation of photos and evidence of my work throughout the project.
I used DaFont as one of my main sources of researching fonts. I found this website very helpful to find he right style for my genre of magazine. There was a wide variety of different fonts to choose from and i used them for my front cover, contents page and my double page spread. I found this website very useful as a way to find many different fonts.
I used Blogger to create a blog account. I found this a great way to keep all my information together in one place and i was very easy to use and navigate around. I was able to upload pictures, videos and voice recording and PowerPoint's as well as write about my work.
I used Internet explorer to my full advantage. I found the Internet a fantastic way to find up to date information about the current styles, and up to date labels and more. I used the Internet to edit my photos right away across to research on FindYourTribe. The Internet provided me with lots of information towards my portfolio.
I used slideshare as a way to upload PowerPoint's presentations to my blog., by using a HTML code. I found this very useful and quick b just creating an account and using the easy to use upload system to translate my PowerPoint's into my blog.
I used Picnik a website as another source of manipulating my images for my portfolio work. I found Picnik very easy and quick to use ad was definitely one of my favorite sources of image editing. I found it had a variety of different effects, touch ups and font styles. It's really contributed to my project.
I used PowerPoint and Word as a way on typing up information in preparation for my blog. I found it also helped when designing all of my production task. I used both Microsoft software through every inch and aspect of my portfolio. I used it to upload images, change images, change font style, and moving around text. I couldn't of done my project without it and gained a bigger insight to what they have to offer.
I have gained a deeper perspective on the use of technologies and have gained greater understanding to the new applications i had never used. Both Adobe applications i found hard to use at first, but then i realised how much it benefited my production tasks. I found the Blogs and Slideshare great ways to share and upload information in a easy collected way, this was a real insight to me and i will definitely use in it the future. The other applications i already had used such as PowerPoint and Microsoft Word i gained a deeper understanding of the ways in which they can be used to your full advantage especially throughout my portfolio production. This project has opened my perspectives to the new extent to technology and what it has to offer.
